Pennsylvania's Crazy Governor

After cutting the state's higher ed budget by 50% the Governor asks colleges to open up their campuses for natural gas drilling.

If the campuses are large enough, and this could be done on land they own that's far enough away from where they conduct business, I don't see how this proposal is inherently crazy.

Yeah, I don't see what is crazy about this. Tough times, I suppose, call for some creative measures to cut costs and raise revenue. It is probably not the worst proposal around.

Think about Pennsylvania. Think about their college campuses and where they are located. Then read this article from Scientific American

and then think about sending your kid to a college that had a natural gas drilling operation/well on campus. You'd really do that?
