Running For My Life

Postby Brandon » Thu Jan 04, 2007 8:54 pm

If you have an interest in missionary work, recent African history, or the effects of civil war on human psychology, I recommend that you read Running For My Life: Captive of the RUF Rebels of Sierra Leone by Fr. Victor Mosele, SX. I've met and corresponded with Fr. Victor for a little while now. He is truly a remarkable man. The Wikipedia article on him is more or less accurate. Anyways, he sent me a copy of his book a week before Christmas. I couldn't put it down. I seldom read a book through in one day but I did this one. I also ask those of you here who pray to remember Fr. Victor and the people of Sierra Leone in your prayers. Everyone else, please keep them in your thoughts.
Be sober and watch: because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, goeth about seeking whom he may devour.

My sister's church has three congregations, and one consists of people from Sierra Leone. That war was no joke.
